Oh happy happy day, I’m sure you are as excited about this release as I am! The day has finally come! One Android is finally in print! This mini is 18 luscious black and white pages with a full color cover. All drawn and designed by yours truly. 5.5″ x 8.5″ And it’s available now! At this particular moment it’s available on Etsy(link below), you can buy it directly with paypal(button below), and if you live in the Boston area keep your eye out in various stores.
So far you can get it at:
Comicopia
New England Comics (Allston + Brookline + Cambridge)
And more to come.
Again I’m super excited. I had the realization the other day that I’ve been working on things that are “One Android” for like six years in some form or another, and this is the first time that I’ve finally got the gumption to go ahead and get him out for the rest of the world to enjoy. This book is done, I’ve got two more mini’s to be coming soon, and I’ve even started working on a couple of new paintings featuring him. None of that is right around the corner but it’s not far. So if you like this mini, be sure to come back and look for more.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me in this effort. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for all my good friends and family encouraging me along the way. You know who you are!!!
So I just wanted to let you all know that you can now view my work over at Carbonmade . It’s no different than what’s here really. It’s just a nice envelope. And it’s free! I might be using it for my portfolio exclusively eventually, we’ll see.
Also I just dropped off One Android Stories: Deep Waters at the print shop! I had to hoof it about 2 miles over treacherously un-shoveled ice-deathtrap “sidewalks” to get there in the bitter cold this morning. Totally worth it, the folks over at Red Sun Press were super helpful, and even took me down into the basement to find the right paper for the book cover. We found the paper I’ve been dreaming about, a rich and creamy natural brown, 100% recycled to boot! Can’t wait to get it in my hands. They told me Tuesday for the proof and probably get copies by the end of the week next week! Woohoo!
These little guys are ink and watercolor, 6.5 x 8.75 height and width respectively. I really just wanted to do something fun and light, playing with insidiousness and innocence, both quick and fun, something to enjoy between projects. I think they are fairly self explanatory so enjoy!
I’ve got at least one more in the pipe and will be posting them as soon as I get them finished.
I made this for a friend of mine for Christmas, I thought you folks might enjoy it too!
It’s watercolor and ink. 8.75″ x 6.5″.
Brief update on other projects as well, the One Android book is coming along, I’m figuring out how to get them printed at a price that I can afford to do right now. Just hearing back from printers now, it seems everything shuts down between Christmas and New Years.
Oh, and keep checking back for new pages of From the Clouds. I’ve got the next two penciled and will begin painting them shortly.
