My comic adaptation of an ancient Mayan myth is now available for FREE(!) Check out that snazzy new cover up there. Brush up on your Mayan mythology before the end of the world, and find out about the trials and tribulations the gods Hurricane and Plumed Serpent had after creating the world.
You can get it for your iPhone or iPad using Emanata, or download it as a pdf right here! Hurray! This story originally premiered in the Boston Comics Roundtable anthology, Inbound 5, and if you haven’t checked out that anthology do yourself a favor and get a copy! Great gift for foodies (do people still call people foodies?) and comics lovers!
Enjoy!
I’m so happy to announce that One Android Stories: Deep waters AND Tide Lines are available now on your iPhone or iPad. Just 99 cents! They are being made available through the amazing indie comics app Emanata!
So I’m gonna start sounding like a salesman here but I just can’t help myself. Emanata is a great service for comics lovers and comics makers alike. The app is free, and the comics are cheap or free, and most of the proceeds go to the creators. I think this is a great little system, such a good place to find the most indie of indie comics out there! So if you’ve got an iPad or and iPhone be sure to check it out.
Also “From the Clouds” and “People of Corn” should be available there soon.
So you missed it at MICE? Have no fear, “From the Clouds” is now in stores all over the Boston area, and available on Etsy. Or get it directly from me below!
I’ll also be at Paint and Pixel in Northampton Massachusetts on October 20th. So if you are in the area swing by and get your copy signed!
It’s the story of strange visitors from another world, visitors that bring the promise of change to a society that may or may not be ready for it. The most epic tale you’re going to get in a mini.
Wide Format, each page opens to a super wide 17″.
10 Pages of strange aliens, lush landscapes, massive crowds, fierce beasts, explosions, and a kind of poetry you wouldn’t expect in a surreal sci-fi epic.
FULL COLOR! Every detail of this comic was painstakingly created with watercolor and ink.
The art edition is out! Reserve your copy today. Or pick one up at MICE this saturday!
This is my editorial debut. I worked as the story editor for the volume, working closely with artists and writers to get the best stories in the anthology as we could. I very pleased with the result. 11 wonderfully crafted stories with some of the best comic art you can find in New England! Thanks go to the art editor, Kimball Anderson, and the who put it in motion and kept everything running smoothly, Roho!
Some information on the book from the Hellbound site:
The Art Edition features a wraparound full color cover nearly a yard long, designed by Roho and featuring art by Jerel Dye. This volume continues in the same horrifying tradition with eleven chilling tales that examine the darkness that lies within all of us. These gruesome narratives feature some of New England’s best artists and writers: a quick taste of zombies, a story set in a mortuary, the dark side of high-school overachievers. Even baseball gets the horror treatment, The creators work in a variety of styles: totally black backgrounds, light and airy hiding terror underneath, a nightmarish character sketch, and some of the artist explore the woods at night. Also two nearly wordless stories, with one story taking place on a whaling ship and the other in a modern city. Closing out the volume with the chilling words of a criminal. This volume was Edited by Jerel Dye and Kimbal Anderson.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to inform you that my new mini, From the Clouds is getting ready to go to the printers! Hurray! I’ll have it at MICE (of course!), and it should be hitting Boston comics shops and my etsy shop after that. The book is my first full color endeavor and each page was done in watercolor and ink. Here’s a sample of some of it.
This Friday night (Nov. 5) from 7-9pm there will be an art opening highlighting the artwork from the anthology at the Atomic Bean Cafe in Cambridge, MA. I’ve got a couple pages on display and will be there. If you are around, swing by, check out the art, buy a book, smooze with the artists, have a drink! You won’t regret it!
Also check out these other Boston Comics Roundtable events in the near future.
Check out my new comic in “Inbound 5″. Available through the Boston Comics Roundtable Website or in comic books stores throughout the greater Boston area and beyond.
This is a great anthology chock full of stories about food, with some of the most talented artists and writers from the Boston area. It’s such an honor to be included in their ranks. To wet your appetite page one from my story is here, it’s called “People of Corn” a myth adapted from a Mayan Legend on the origin of humans. Be sure to get your copy and savor all of the mouthwatering tales “from the deeply personal to the fantastical.” This is a great collection for the indie comics fans and foodies alike.
You can read a review of the book over at the 13 Minutes blog.
